The Challenge
Temporary cells were required while Huddersfield Magistrates’ Court was being refurbished. Due to the layout of the existing police station, siting the cells in a suitable position was a particular challenge.
The building also had to be robust, secure, fit for purpose and able to meet exacting home office standards.
The Thurston Solution
Thurston provided ten cells, designed to fit around the existing station buildings.
The Thurston Surecell buildings comply with Home Office standards so our customers can be assured of the quality that is being delivered. They have undergone rigerous testing and each and every specification set out by the Home Office is met.
Further to this, our custodial solutions are relocatable, demonstrating our commitment to delivering a flexible solution. This long life and flexibility were crucial to West Yorkshire Police as the buildings were subsequently relocated to a different site.
